Duggan and Members of the City Council DATE: August 25, 2003 RE: Claim Against the City By Ronald Huntington Claimant Date of Claim Date of Loss Nature of Claim Ronald Huntington 08/25/03 08/12/03 VehiCle Damage This is a claim in which claimant alleges that while his vehicle was parked near the comer of Windsor Avenue and Merz Street, a City of Dubuque Operations and Maintenance truck struck the front brush guard on claimant's 1988 Toyota pick-up. According to the report of John KJostermann, Street/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, Ops and Maintenance records indicate that a Street maintenance truck did strike the brush guard on claimant's parked vehicle. It is therefore the recommendation of John Klostermann to approve this claim in the amount of $128.40. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation. Our records show that a street maintenance truck rolled ahead and bumped the parked truck owned by Ronald Huntington. My investigation shows that the damage claim of $128.40 is reasonable for the damage caused to the vehicle. It is therefore my recommendation to pay the $128.40 claim as filed.
