In May the League undertook a survey of the cities that were home to colleges and universities. Over
90% of those responding to the survey indicated that they believed a forum for these cities would be
useful. In response to this level of interest, the League has asked Gordon Canfield, the mayor of
Grinnell, to chair a forum for your cities. The purpose of this first meeting will be to review the
survey results, discuss the issues identified and discuss the ongoing role of such a forum.
