Re:Land Use Amendment of Freeway Corridor Plan
Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
The Long Range Planning Advisory Commission held a public hearing on the Land Use
Amendment of the Freeway Corridor Plan for the A.Y.McDonald Site at its May 17,2000
Commission meeting.
At the meeting,Mr.Steve Juergens,Fuerste,Coyle,Juergens &Sudmeier,reviewed the history
of the property,the freeway plan,surrounding zoning requirements,and the City staff report
regarding the land use amendment .Mr.Roy Sherman,A.Y.McDonald Corporation,was also
present for the public hearing.
Following the public hearing regarding the rezoning request,the Commission discussed the
request.The Commission unanimously determined that circumstances and conditions in the
community have sufficiently changed such that the land use amendment is consistent with the
goals and objectives of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and recommends that the rezoning request
should be approved by the City Council.
