1837 Proceedings_Incorporation1837
Pursuant to an act of the Legislative Council and House of Representatives of the territory
of Wisconsin approved and entitled an Act to incorporate the inhabitants of such towns
as may wish to become incorporated an election for trustees of the town of Dubuque
was held on Saturday the first day of April 1837 by virtue of which election the following
Genglemen were declared to be a Board of Trustees under the name and title of the
President and Trustees of the town of Dubuque for one year from the date of said
election

The trusteed elect held a preliminary meeting this day for the special purpose of
organizing the Board and electing the necessary officers thereof T S Wilson was called
to the Chair as President Pro Tem. T C Fassitt acted as Secretary pro tem
whereupon the following present were elected officers for the ensuing year

On motion the board adjourned to meet atain on the 8th inst
