This is a claim ~n which claimant alleges that a large "Road Closed" sign was blown down
West 3r~ Street and hit the left rear portion of his vehicle, resulting in damage to the left
rear fender panel. '
According to the report of Mike Koch. Public Works Director, this claim relates to the
Concrete Section Repair project at Grandview Avenue and West 3~d Street that is being
done by Drew Cook & Sons Excavating, Inc. The contract called for the standard form of
contracts and bonds with the City, which require the contractor to hold the City harmless
from any claims of damage resulting from the work.
It is therefore the recommendation of Mike Koch [o refer this claim to Drew Cook & Sons
Excavating, Inc. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.

Claim Against the City of Dubuque by Steven Bruse
This claim relates to the Concrete Section Repair Project at Grandview and West
Third that is being done by Drew Cook & Sons Excavating, nc. The contract
called for the standard form of contracts and bonds with the City, which require
the contractor to hold the City harmless from any claims of damage resulting
from the work.
Therefore, it is the recommendation of the City Engineering Division that this
claim for damages be forwarded to Drew Cook & Sons Excavating, Inc. for
further consideration/processing.
