Dear Mr. Long and Ms. Freeman:
At today's meeting, the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors reviewed the August 25, 2010
correspondence from the City of Dubuque regarding their request to you for an extension
regarding their technical appeal of the FEMA preliminary DFIRM, so their consultants can complete
their analysis. We concur with their goal of having the most accurate DFIRM possible for the City of
Dubuque.
We also support their position that several errors were found in the mapping of both existing and new
flood plain areas and that the impact of the Zone A designation will contribute to the disinvestment in
crucial urban areas and support their appeal request for further analysis.
Sincerely,
Eric Manternach, Chairperson
Dubuque County Board of Supervisors
