Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Qames Bur e, Community and Economic Development Director Michael Koch, Public Works Director SUBJECT: DUBUQUE INDUSTRIAL CENTER WEST GRADING, PAVING AND UTILITIES PROJECT, PHASE I. INTRODUCTION The attached resolutions provide for the acceptance of the Dubuque Industrial Center West Grading, Paving and Utilities Phase I Project. DISCUSSION All work has been completed on the project by McAninch Construction Company in the final contract amount of $5,622,265.19. This project included: site grading, paving of Chavenelle Road east of Seippel Road, installation of sanitary sewer and water mains and storm drains and installation of underground electrical conduits. RECOMMENDATION We recommend that the City Council accept the improvement and that the final contract be established at $5,622,265.19. BUDGET IMPACT A summary of the project cost is as follows: Estimate Bid Final Construction Contract $5,175,139.50 $4,495,155.81 $5,622,265.19 Alternate B - Utilities 444,977.50 465,456.45 Alternate C - Paving 561,641.70 464,580.06 Contingency 309,337.94 309,337.94 .00 TOTAL $6,496,096.64 $5,734,530.26 $5,622,265.19 The final contract is within the amended budget amount approved by City Council. All funds have been expended except for the retainage which will be released with this approval. ACTION TO BE TAKEN The City Council is requested to adopt the attached resolution accepting the improvement and establishing the final contract amount.
