Proclamation_Five Flags 100th Anniversary Week
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the Five Flags Theater is celebrating 100 years of arts and culture
th
entertainment at 4 and Main Streets; and
WHEREAS, the original Five Flags Civic Center Committee worked to save this
landmark and create the full-event civic center; and
WHEREAS, Five Flags Center continues to bring local, regional, and national talent
to the stage for the Dubuque community to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the 100-year-old Five Flags Theater has received a number of historic
preservation awards, is listed on the National Register of Historic
Places, and still holds regular arts and cultural events for the city of
Dubuque.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY
PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 15 THROUGH NOVEMBER 20, 2010 AS

“FIVE FLAGS THEATER 100 ANNIVERSARY WEEK”
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO ATTEND THE
CELEBRATION AND RIBBON CUTTING ON NOVEMBER 16 AT 3:30 PM AT THE FIVE
FLAGS THEATER.
