Meeting was called to order at 4:05 P.M. by Chairman Tom Giese, and announced that it was being
conducted in accordance with Iowa Open Meetings Law.
Order of business was as follows:
1. Dave Grothe made a motion to suspend the reading of the minutes. Seconded by M. Kelly.
Vote was unanimous in favor of motion.
Discussion was held on the awarding of a Mechanical Registration to Top Notch. After
reviewing letter from the company and talking with Greg Kern and Mike Ferrari, a motion was
made by Dave Stewart to award Mechanical Registration to Top Notch, based upon Ferrari
competencies B1 and L3. Seconded by D. Grothe. Vote was 5-0 in favor. Number 169 was
assigned to Top Notch.
Discussed looking through 2003 International Mechanical Code. Board members agreed to
look through and write down the chapters they view, so if we miss any, we can make sure
we review them.
Discussion was held on sheet metal installers. The fact is that there are companies that
employ people who just install sheet and the previous tests offered by Experior did not
adequately represent their expertise. The secretary presented all members with ExperioCs
latest mechanical tests Grandfathering of people was discussed. The Board agreed to
Dave Stewart talking with the Building Official about the grandfathering of individuals and
then will make a decision.

Motion was made to adjourn by Dave Grothe, seconded by M. Kelly. Meeting adjourned
