Henriksen Answer Required: 9/29/2010 Fax #: 312.263.8406 Information Requested: On the interior of the West elevation of the existing Fire House (10 Line) there are 2 outlets. One is on the bay between A and B line and the other is between G & J Line. These need to be disconnected in order to begin demo for the new door openings at those bays. In order to disconnect the power along that wall needs to be removed and replaced due to the way it was originally pulled. Also there were three louvers along that wall that need to be disconnected in order to remove the louver extensions as requested per Justin at Straka. The overhead doors on the North elevation of the Firehouse needed to be disconnected in order for JPC to proceed with the demo and precast infills. This was not shown on the drawings. The RF1 has cost implications. Date: r ' //? z/i cc: Jobsite 1.Remove electrical where required (I noticed this has happened from .: job site visit). REQUEST FOR INFORMATION 10th & Central Ramp -Fire Station Exp Job No: 5114 029 - FS Connection at Exst Roof Date: 9/22/2010 Desman Associates 20 North Clark Street 4th Floor Chicago, IL 60602 Attn: Jeffrey S. Henriksen Answer Required: 9/29/2010 Fax #:312.263.8406 Information Requested: JPC on site staff spoke with Justin from Straka on site and looked at the existing conditions at the existing roof of the Fire Station, since it is now partially exposed. JPC currently only removed a portion of what is called to be removed on sheet AF -002, just enough to get the new precast installed, but to keep the existing Fire Station water tight. If everything was removed per the plans, right away, there would be water leaks. In reviewing this with Justin, the thought would be to not remove any more (leave as is). The remaining portion of the concrete cap and blocking would stay and the new roof could lap over the existing. The other part involved in this is how to cover the portion of the existing brick /block "rubble" that would be exposed up at the top 2' by the precast double tees. 1) Please advise if it is acceptable to not remove any more at the roof level, and if so, what are the new details. 2) Please advise how to cover up the top 2' of the existing brick /block (if question #1 is acceptable). This RFI has cost implications. Signed: Date: Bizjak J.P. Cullen Son nc. cc: Jobsite Answer: Signed: Justin McCarthy See future Proposal Request The existing demolished condition of brick work and roof coping is acceptable. There may need to be selective additional demolition required in order to accommodate the revised scope of work that will be indicated in a future Proposal Request as noted above.
