The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you that I have been asked to serve on
the inaugural Advisory Board for the ADA Coordinator Certification (ACC) Program.
This is a new certification program designed to insure that ADA coordinators are
equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective in their positions.
Details on the program are available at www.adacoordinator.org.
The ACC program is being coordinated by Michael Edwards with the Great Plains ADA
Center in Missouri. Additional members of the Board are: Liz Janette, ADA Coordinator
for the State of Nebraska Department of Corrections; Ed Neuberg, ADA Coordinator for
the City of Denver, Colorado; Kathy Fortney, ADA Coordinator for the Francis Howell
School District, St. Charles County, Missouri; Delores Gonzales, ADA Coordinator for
the City of Austin, Texas; and Stephanie Brewer Cook, ADA Coordinator for the City of
Knoxville, TN.
We will be conducting much of our work electronically and through conference calls.
However, I have been asked to attend an in- person Board meeting as part of the 2011
National Symposium, and I've also agreed to be a presenter at the Symposium.
Consequently, I will need to travel to Las Vegas May 8 -11, 2011. As a presenter, my
airfare, conference registration, and hotel costs are covered by the conference
organizers.
