September 17 to 19th inclusive, of the League of Iowa Municipalities with at view of determining the advisability of having the City of. Dubuque take out membership in said league, would re- spectfully report that he attended all the meetings of - said' - convention and was favorably impressed with the great need for such an organization, espec- ially in this state, • where our repre- sentatives to the state assembly are largely drawn. from farming communi= ties and consequently are not familiar :with the, requirements : Of 'or the gees, 444 Regular Session, October 17, 1907 tions that arise in the government of a city, These questions are discussed at the meetings of the league, as are also other matters relating to civic im- provement, and when deemed advisable, intelligent and organized effort is made to secure the adoption of laws beneficial to the municipalities of Iowa.
