The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members

City Hall-50 W. 13th Street

RE: Historic Preservation Revolving Loan Fund and Historic Preservation Homeowner Grant
Programs
Dear Mayor and City Council Members:
The City of Dubuque Historic Preservation Commission is proposing amendments to the
Historic Preservation Revolving Loan Fund and Historic Preservation Homeowner Grant
Programs. The changes are shown in bold on the attachments.
Discussion
The Historic Preservation Commission discussed revising the terms of the Historic Preservation
Revolving Loan Fund and Historic Preservation Homeowner Grant to help speed completion of
projects sooner. These changes ensure that the funding will be used in a timely manner.
The Historic Preservation Commission discussed adding City Landmarks as an eligible property
for funding from the Revolving Loan Fund and Homeowner Grant Program. They noted that this
would allow property owners to apply for the funding if their property has been designated as a
City Landmark.
Recommendation
By a vote of 7 to 0, the Historic Preservation Commission recommends that the City Council
approve the amendments to Historic Preservation Revolving Loan Fund and Historic
Preservation Homeowner Grant.
A simply majority vote is needed for the City Council to approve the amendments.
Respectfully submitted,
œ~çz~
Historic Preservation Commission
