Cable Comm. Resignations
CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA
MEMORANDUM
April 9, 2004
MEMO TO: Jeanne Schneider, City Clerk
FROM: Merrill Crawford, Cable Franchise Administrato~
SUBJECT: Cable Commission Resignations
INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this memorandum is to inform you of the
resignation of one member each from two cable commissions, some months ago.
BACKGROUND: Upon the recent release of the updated Boards and
Commissions list, I noted that resignations of Kevin Nekvinda from the Cable TV
Regulatory Commission (summer, 2003) and Dan Wilant from the Cable
Community Teleprogramming Commission (December, 2003) had not been
properly reported to your office.
Attached is a letter from Mr. Wilant, who moved to Madison, Wisconsin. Mr.
Nekvinda notified me verbally last summer that changing job assignments would
take him away from Dubuque with greater frequency.
I asked both commissioners to follow up with a letter to the Mayor & City Council,
c/o your office, but apparently this did not happen.
REQUESTED ACTION: The Requested Action is that you inform the City
Council of these resignations, update the records, and otherwise complete the
typical process for citizens who retire from a board or commission position.
