PROCLAMA TION
WHEREAS, all citizens are affected by our nation's rising demand for quality
long term care services; and
WHEREAS, we salute our community's citizens now residing in nursing
facilities, many of whom planted the seeds that made our
community grow and prosper; and
WHEREAS, nursing facilities provide caring and supportive ~ervices that make
quality life possible for our loved ones; and
WHEREAS, member facilities of the American Health Care Association and the
Iowa Health Care Association are providing a host of activities in
celebration of National Nursing Home Week beginning Mother's Day
May 9-15, 2004 using the theme "Embracing our Heritage" and
WHEREAS, there will be a special observation of Nursing Home Week by the
staff and residents of Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center and
citizens are encouraged to participate.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM MAY 9-15,2004 AS:
uNURSING HOME WEEK"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
