CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

The Dubuque City Council met in special session at 5:30 p.m. on February 28, 2011
in the Historic Federal Building.
Present: Mayor Buol, Council Members Braig, Connors, Jones, Lynch, Resnick, City
Manager Van Milligen
Mayor Buol read the call and stated that this was a special meeting of the City
Council called for the purpose of discussing the recommendations of the Safe
Community Task Force.
WORK SESSION
Safe Community Task Force Recommendations
Human Rights Director Kelly Larson provided an overview of the work session. Safe
Community Task Force member Lynn Sutton introduced members of the Task Force.
The following SCTF members provided a report on specific topics:

City Council discussion included publicizing issues with problem properties and the
names of irresponsible landlords and tenants described by SCTF member Joe Noll and
Greg Kuhn; parental responsibility ordinance described by Assistant City Attorney
Crenna Brumwell; police recruiting and training described by Police Chief Mark Dalsing.
There being no further business, upon motion the City Council adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
