I am submitting this letter for the City council position for the
fourth ward.
Being a native Dubuque I have seen the great strides that the
city has come through and the good and bad of this also.
Although this city is on an uphill climb, it is now time to take it
the next leveL
With my recent involvement in the community with being on
several commissions and boards, I have witnessed how much
discord there is amongst people, wanting someone else to fix all
there problems. So therefore it is time to give some of the
ownership back to the community and have them take a more
active approach, and I feel that this position would give me more
of role to play with the decision making and to be voice to
those that believe that there may not be a place for them in this
city, because this city is for everyone whom lives here. And also
I feel that this position for me could help rebuild a gap that is
missing with our minority population.
Currently, I serve on the Dubuque Human Rights commission,
The Housing commission, Safe Community Committee, DCAP,
DDRC, President of the Hilltop Ivy League Neighborhood
Association.
