Letter of Interest_Paula NeuhausPaula Neuhaus 378 Main Street Dubuque, Iowa 52001 March 7, 2011 City of Dubuque 50 West I3t Street Dubuque, Iowa 52001 Dear Dubuque City Council Members & Mayor Roy Buol, Please accept this letter and the attached resume as a formal submission of interest for the 4t Ward seat on the Dubuque City Council. As a resident of our city center who has dedicated the last five years (a portion of my career and all of my volunteer efforts) to the ongoing development of a vital downtown, I welcome the opportunity to serve my community as representative of the 4" Ward. There has never been a more momentous time to share in the vitality of Dubuque and to serve and help guide the current city management. I've admired the City of Dubuque and its' leaders for their tireless dedication to preservation and revitalization upon return to my hometown in 2005. I have welcomed various opportunities to serve the community in civic - minded roles and to utilize my arts and culture not - for - profit skill set to further develop the Downtown Cultural Corridor. Developing self - sustaining programs, revitalization via preservation education, stimulating cultural enrichment through access to arts, and fostering civic involvement and neighborhood pride through ownership are outreach goals for my personal growth. Civic duty is a natural derivative of the pursuit of these goals. I welcome the opportunity to discuss the possibility of serving my neighbors as representative of the 4t Ward. I look forward to the exploratory dialogue of this possibility. Sincerely, Paula Neuhaus RECEIVED 11 MAR -7 PM 2:27 City Clerk's Office Dubuque, IA 378 Main Street 1 Dubuque, Iowa 52001 1563.564.5290 1 neuhaus.paula @gmail.com QUALIFICATIONS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE WORK EXPERIENCE PAULA NEUHAUS Dedication to community building through program outreach'and network building.
