Steven Kieler, agent for 605 Bluff Street, requested an
extension of time until July 31, 2004 to complete work on
the northwest fire escape (inadequate guardrail). They are
in the process of selling the building and prefer to not
make the costly repairs, until they know what they are going
to do with the building. They are having an environmental
investigation on the entire building, which includes
analysis of the fire escapes.

TOM SWIFT MOTIONED TO TABLE THIS DISCUSSION WHILE TIM CALLS
THE AGENT TO FIND OUT IF IIW HAS BEEN THERE TO LOOK AT THE
FIRE ESCAPES.
BOB SAMPSON SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.
Tim Moler, Housing Inspector, spoke to the agent and found
out the property will be auctioned May 25, 2004 and they
were not going to have IIW look at the stairs until after
the auction. Tim told Steve Kieler (agent) to let the
present owner know that the fire escapes have to be
inspected now. Steve said he would get IIW up there now to
give us a report on the condtion on the fire escape.

GET MORE INFORMATION ON THE CONDITION OF THE FIRE ESCAPES.

4. Tuck-pointing of porch columns.
5. Make the following repairs to east and south porches:
a. Porch guardrails and stair guardrails need
tightening.
b. Porch stair guardrails and porch guardrails have
greater than 6" opening.
c. Replace deteriorated ledger boards and properly
attach to building.
d. Porch decking is loose.
e. Replace fascia boards as needed.
f. Repair brick on porch and front porch steps.
The owner is requesting a one-week extension, from 04/27/04,
for the following:
1. Repair and seal the open cistern.
2. Clean up junk in the yard.
3. Replace broken windows in the basement door and
basement window.
This is a Section 8 Initial inspection.

JUNE 15,2004 ON ALL REPAIRS EXCEPT THE HANGING GUTTERS AND
DOWNSPOUTS. ONE-WEEK, MAY 25,2004, WAS GRANTED TO MAKE THE
REPAIRS TO THE HANGING GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS.

washer/dryer.

NOTE: Items with '*' (3-5) are tenant's responsibility, but
the owner didn't think they would be completed by tenant.
The landlord will be ending contract June 30,2004 and will
make the repairs after the tenant leaves.
The inspection for 1430 Thomas Place is a Section 8
Complaint inspection.
The inspection for 1430 1/2 Thomas Place is a Section 8
Initial.

report of repairs made to these units. Christopher Stombaugh, owner of
605-635 W 11th street, talked on repairs made and repairs that still
need to be completed.
Bob Schaub requested the minutes show the owners appeared and have
successfully completed a lot of the repairs.
