Dear Friend,
Two years ago the Board of Director's of the American Red Cross set out
to raise money for an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), After floods in
1999 and again in 2001 hit the Tri-State area, your local Red Cross
provided emergency assistance to those who were affected by the floods,
Because the local Red Cross had no vehicle to provide emergency feeding
to flood victims and emergency workers we had to rely on neighboring
chapters 90 miles away to help us with feeding which sometimes delayed
our response.
Today, thanks to you and the community our own local ERV that you
helped us purchase is on the scene helping victims ofthe May 2004
floodiug in Clayton County. Two years after our "ERV to Serve
Campaign" was successfully completed we immediately put the newly
purchased ERV to work. In addition to serving the needs of flood
victims the ERV was dispatched to 61 smaller disaster relief operations
in the Tri-State area. We couldn't have done it without you.
