Just one night at this program and that changed. I realized I just need a little help. This program has added to my knowledge and enjoyment of Dubuque. What a great program and yes I am a Dubuquer!” –DD Participant 2010 Recruit * Relocate * Retain Stats:  Newcomers Assisted  •375 in 2009 •311 in 2010 •95 YTD in 2011 Employers using Concierge Services  •34 in 2009 •46 in 2010 •25 YTD in 2011 Community Tours conducted  •85 community tours in 2009 •127 community tours in 2010 •32 YTD in 2011 149 newcomers and residents YTD participated in Distinctively Dubuque and left the  program feeling connected to their community. 2010 -4 sessions offered. (25 participants max per session)  2011-4 sessions offered –next class April 20 –May 25  Cleaning up the image of the “Dirty Job” Over 4,000 students have explored careers in 2010 because of the  programs that Dubuque Works has been able to offer in the community. “I liked learning about the different job fields in construction, and how people do  really enjoy it. I learned girls are also successful in construction.” –Southwestern High School Student “I liked that there were specialist from many different fields with experience. We  were able to ask questions and get answers from people who do this for a living.” –Hempstead Student “It gives you a chance to see what you might want to do in life.”  -Hempstead Student Battling the Local Brain Drain 18,000 + College Students  Student Engagement  Networking Events on Campus  Internship Opportunities  Future Young Professionals  Career Development  Building Bridges to Employment Dubuque Works provided funding for 200 individuals to obtain  their National Career Readiness Certificate in 2010. Northeast Iowa Community College Business Consortium  provided affordable training for 14 companies with 2,650 employees eligible for training. Bridges Initiative • has an overall graduation rate of 73%, which is above the  national average. More than 100 people were trained as a part of the Bridges  Initiative to understand the Hidden Rules of the middle class.
