APPEAL TO THE DISTRICT COURT
COMES NOW, Plaintiff, Edwards Concrete Contractors, Inc., by and through its
attorney, Sarah E. Meyer, and notifies the Court of its intent to appeal the City Board of
Review's June 8, 2004, Decision regarding the value of the vacant lot (10-20-377-001).
1.
Petitioner is owner of the property legally described as:
Lot 2-1-PT-1-1 BLK 2 NORTHRANGE INDUSTRIAL PARK
2. The Office of the City Assessor of Dubuque County assessed said property
for the year 2004 at $300,900.00,
3. After review, the City Board of Review decreased said assessment to
$271,400.00.
4. Petitioner appeals the amount of said assessment, in that said amount is
arbitrary, said property was assessed as having a building located on the property and said
building does not exist. The City Board of Review has not provided Petitioner with
sufficient reasons for such a large increase in assessed value from the year 2003 to 2004,
when no major improvements have been made on the land.
WHEREFORE, Petitioner, prays that the Court allow Petitioner to present its
evidence regarding said assessment and what they believe said assessment should be,
for the Court's review of said assessment, and for such other further relief as the Court
deems fair and reasonable under the circumstances.
