Honorable Mayor and Council members:
Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to work as a legal intern for the city of
Dubuque. During this internship I have been able to both witness and participate in
various aspects of the legal profession. This experience has provided me with
invaluable insights into my chosen occupation. It has clarified my career goals and
strengthened my desire to practice law in the public sector.
I have also enjoyed my time in the city of Dubuque. I have been fortunate enough to
experience everything from the historic Grand Excursion to visits from presidential
candidates. Although I was not very familiar with the city before this summer, I can now
say that it is a beautiful city.
I have also been very impressed by the quality of the Dubuque city employees and their
level of dedication to this city. They reflect well upon Dubuque and the state of Iowa.
