Proclamation_ARC Games Day (June 9, 2011)
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, June 9 is the Area Residential Care Corporate and Community Games
and will be held at A.Y. McDonald Park; and
WHEREAS, In its tenth year, the
"Area Residential Care Corporate and Community
is the largest fundraising event of the year for Area Residential
Games"
Care with over 40 teams, more than 500 participants and more than
$100,000 raised to date; and
WHEREAS, This annual ARC event includes many exciting, low impact relay games,
music and food with several fun awards handed out to participants; and
WHEREAS, The silly, teambuilding games are sponsored by American Trust &
Savings Bank, Diamond Jo Casino, Dubuque Bank and Trust, Mystique
Casino, Prudential Insurance, Runde Auto and many other loyal
neighboring businesses; and
WHEREAS, All proceeds from the games go to support Area Residential Care’s
mission of empowering people with mental disabilities to achieve their
highest quality of life. Area Residential Care provides both residential
and vocational programs to more than 300 tri-state residents.
NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY
