SUBJECT: U.S. 20 Intersection Improvements
Dear Mayor Duggan & Council Members:
Thank you for your letter dated November 1, 2004 concerning the U.S. 20 intersection improvement
project. Your letter requests our department consider nighttime construction and provide better
communications with impacted businesses on future construction projects.
Reasonable restrictions, including requiring nighttime work, should and will be considered when
establishing contractor's work schedules on high volume traffic corridors. Improving communication
with businesses along project corridors will be a priority and the future use of email distribution lists
for notification can facilitate that effort.
I appreciate your support of the U.S. 20 intersections reconstruction and traftìc signal interconnect
projects.
