BACKGROUND Eagle Valley Subdivision is a 22-acre, gO-lot development along Roosevelt Road to provide affordable owner-occupied housing, As part of the December 2, 2003 agreement, Fondell Excavating, Inc. was allowed to build the interior streets with a 42-foot right-of-way with 27 feet of pavement back-to-back, sidewalks on both sides, and no parking on one side, Eagle Valley Drive, the primary access road from Roosevelt Road, was built with a 50-foot right-of-way and 31 feet of pavement back-to-back. There is a stub street platted for a secondary access at the northwest corner of the development DISCUSSION Since the street widths vary from the City standards of 31-foot wide pavement and 50-foot minimum right-of-way, except for Eagle Valley Drive which is currently the only access to the subdivision, parking needs to be restricted on the following streets for City maintenance purposes: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Bald Eagle Court Harpy Eagle Court Stellar Eagle Drive Golden Eagle Drive Eagle Valley Drive (Restrictive to one side of street) (Restrictive to one side of street) (Restrictive to one side of street) (Restrictive to one side of street) (Restrictive to both sides of street) RECOMMENDATION Based on the December 2, 2003 Agreement between the City of Dubuque, Iowa and Fondell Excavating, Inc" I recommend the adoption of the enclosed ordinance to limit parking on the streets in the Eagle Valley Subdivision. ACTION TO BE TAKEN The City Council is requested to approve the ordinance to limit parking on the streets in Eagle Valley Subdivision. cc: Fondell Excavating, Inc.
