This is a claim for damages to the claimant's trousers, caused
by a defective seat at Five Flags Civic Center.
According to the report of Civic Center Manager Carole Barry,
the claim is correct as filed, and she recommends payment; the
Legal Department concurs with her recommendation.
It is therefore the recommendation of the Legal Department
that this claim, in the amount of $57.78, be paid by the Finance
Director and submitted to ICAP for reimbursement.

Carol:
On February 2, 20000 David Grady was attending an Alliant Energy meeting in
the Five Flags Theater. He reported to the House Manager that the seat in which
he had been sitting had a hole in it, and that he had torn his trousers as a result.
In checking the seat location he identified, it was determined that this condition
did exist in the seat and Mr. Grady was informed by the house manager that he
could file a claim with the city clerk to reimburse him for repair or replacement of
his trousers. He did state that the trousers were not repairable, and consequently
replaced them in the amount of $57.78 at Younkers. We are recomending that Mr.
Grady be reimbursed for this amount.
Should you desire anything further, please let me know. Thank you for your
assistance.
Sincerely,
(]~~
