Turner, City of Dubuque, 50 W. 13th Street, Dubuque, Iowa (319) 589-4270 RESOLUTION NO. 153-00 RESOLUTION DISPOSING OF CITY INTEREST IN LOT 2 OF 6 OF MINERAL LOT 322, DUBUQUE, IOWA Whereas, pursuant to resolution and published notice of time and place of hearing, published in the Telegraph Herald, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Dubuque, Iowa on 7th day of Apri 1 ,2000, the City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa met on the 17th day of Apri 1 , 2000, at 6:30 p.m. in the Public Library Auditorium, 11 th and Locust, Dubuque, Dubuque, County, Iowa to consider the proposal for the sale of real estate described as: Lot 2 of 6 of Mineral Lot 322 in the City of Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa Whereas, the City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa overruled any and all objections, oral or written to the proposal to sell such real estate, except for easements as noted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: Section 1. That the sale of City of Dubuque real property described as Lot 2 of 6 of Mineral Lot 322 in the City of Dubuque, Iowa to Dubuque Stamping & Manufacturing be and the same is hereby approved for the sum of $1.00 plus cost of publication, platting and filing fees. Conveyance shall be by Quit Claim Deed. Section 2. The City of Dubuque reserves unto itself a perpetual easement including the right of ingress and egress thereto, for the purpose of erecting, installing, construction, reconstructing, repairing, owning, operating, and maintaining water, sewer, drainage, gas, telephone, tv. cable, and electric lines as may be authorized by the City of Dubuque, Iowa, as shown on the plat of survey of Lot 1 of 6 and Lot 2 of 6 of Mineral Lot 322. No structure shall be built over the easement area. Section 3. That the Mayor be authorized and directed to execute a Quit Claim Deed, and the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to deliver said deed of conveyance to Dubuque Stamping & Manufacturing upon receipt of the purchase price in full. Section 4. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to record a certified copy of this resolution in the office of the City Assessor, Dubuque County Recorder and Dubuque County Auditor. We are requesting this section of land because of our acquisition of the building at 3110 Washington Street. That acquisition was critical to the future success and growth of our firm, as it will serve as a staging area for materials and tools which will flow to the adjacent manufacturing area. We need the property requested so that we can build a suitable docking area for unloading raw material; primarily steel. Acquisition of this building has allowed us to fÌ'ee up space on the manufacturing floor so that additional equipment could be installed.
