MEMORANDUM

FROM:
Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
Gus Psihoyos, City Engineer ~.D
TO:
SUBJECT:
Madison Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project
(CIP 310837: Madison Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project)
INTRODUCTION
The enclosed resolution provides for the establishment of the final assessments for the
Madison Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project.
DISCUSSION
At the City Council meeting of December 6, 2004, the City Council adopted the
Preliminary Schedule of Final Assessments for the Madison Street Sanitary Sewer
Extension Project. The adoption of this Preliminary Schedule allowed the City
approximately 45 days of administrative time to process assessment applications for
owner occupied low-to-moderate income families. The project has already been
accepted and the final estimate approved by the City Council.
The deadline for filing applications for this financial assistance was January 10, 2005. As
of January 17, 2005, two property owners applied for financial assistance; however, due
to the owner-occupied residency requirement, only one property owner was eligible for
financial assistance. This one payment represented approximately 20% of the sewer
assessment for the eligible property owner.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend that the City Council adopt the enclosed Resolution Approving the Final
Schedule of Assessments for the Madison Street Sanitary Sewer Extension Project.
The total cost of the project is $104,057.18, with special assessments of $33,657.74.
ACTION TO BE TAKEN
The City Council is requested to approve the attached resolution adopting the Final
Schedule of Assessments for the project.
