Dear Friends;
The month of Feb. indicates that my term as an "at large" member of the Community
Development Advisory Commission will expire.
It is my intention not to re-apply for appointment to another term.
I have volunteered or served as an elected official in Dubuqne since the fall of 1964. I feel that it is
time to allow younger and fresher minds guide our community.
I have nothing but praise for the staff at the Housing & Community Development Dept. They are
friendly and efficient. They also are very dedicated and responsive to the needs of the Commission
and to the citizens in general.
By the looks of the climate in Washington, domestic programs are being trimmed in order to curb
the gigantic deficit of our national economy. This is sad, but normal.
I wish you well and encourage you to find a qualified replacement for my seat as soon as possible.
