Proclamation_Shriners Hostpitals for Children Day PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of twenty-two hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding medical training programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all services in a family-centered environment regardless of the patient’s ability to pay, and WHEREAS, the Dubuque County Shrine Club exists solely to support the Shriners Hospitals; and WHEREAS, Shriners Hospitals for Children, in conjunction with the Dubuque County Shrine Club, will be setting up shop in at the Dubuque Masonic Center from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2011, to screen children that might benefit from care in the Shrine System; and WHEREAS, appointments can be made free-of-charge by calling 588-4328. NOW THEREFORE, I, ROY D. BUOL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF AND CITIZENS OF DUBUQUE, DO th HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2011, AS “SHRINERS HOSPITALS FOR CHILDREN DAY” IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND URGE ALL CITIZENS THAT KNOW OF A CHILD WHO MIGHT BE HELPED BY THE SHRINERS BE MADE AWARE OF THIS FREE SCREENING CLINIC.
