I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your stuff for hosting the members of the
Region 7 Livable and Sustainable Communities Partnership including the Federal Transit
Administration, Federal Highway Administration and Environmental Protection Agency on July
25 -26, 2011, to learn about the City of Dubuque's "Sustainable Dubuque" program.
It was a very educational site visit and our Federal team learned much about all the sustainable
activities that are taking place in Dubuque, Iowa. We believe that Dubuque is a national model for
small cities regarding sustainable practices and we are very proud that Dubuque is located in our
region.
We were surprised to hear of the flooding that Dubuque experienced the day after our trip. Please
contact us if we can be of assistance in your recovery efforts. However, we are sure that with your
Dubuque work ethic, your city will soon bounce back and resume its noteworthy sustainable
activities.
