Change Order No. 10 in the amount of $280,453 is for the installation of new reinforcing steel to replace reinforcing steel impacted by the July 11, 2011 collapse of the reinforcing steel mats at Digesters No. 1 and No. 3. The general conditions of the contract require the repair work to be handled as a change order. This change order work will be paid for by reimbursement from the City's Builders Risk insurance policy. Description of Change 10a Install new reinforcing steel to replace the reinforcing steel impacted ADD $280,453 by the July 11, 2011, collapse of the reinforcing steel mats at Digesters No. 1 and No. 3. This work shall include the rebar modifications according to CPR No. 32 enclosed with this Change Order. After on -site review of demolished reinforcing steel, Engineer will observe condition of dowels impacted by the collapse and provide recommendations regarding dowel installation for areas impacted by the collapse. Field- straighten #6 verticals embedded in the base slabs and tank walls. Provide 2 -foot 0 -inch minimum laps when lapping new #6 vertical steel to existing #6 embedded vertical steel. Straighten #6 bars using a minimum bend diameter of 4.5 inches. Field- straighten #8 horizontals embedded in the tank walls. Provide laps in accordance with RFI No. 183. Straighten #8 bars using a minimum bend diameter of 6.0 inches. This work shall be performed on a time and materials basis. Contractor provided a budgetary proposal (enclosed) to perform this work for the amount listed on this Change Order. The quote is an estimated budget. Miron anticipates this work will be tracked time and expense in the same manner the associated work has been. Please issue a change order as soon as possible in order for this work to proceed. Miron anticipates reinforcement delivery Friday 8/5/11 for digester tank 1.
