Dear Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work in the Human Rights Department this summer.
It was an incredible experience for me to work in such an important and interesting field of city
government. Over the course of my internship I have learned a great deal about investigating
and preventing employment and housing discrimination. Kelly, Carol, and Bill were excellent
mentors and did a wonderful job in helping my internship be a successful and rewarding
experience. I look forward to continuing a lasting relationship both with them and the city of
Dubuque.
The first time I ever laid eyes on Dubuque was the day I arrived to start my internship. Since
that day I have been continually impressed with the beauty of the surrounding area, the fabulous
architecture, and the general friendliness of the people. I have really enjoyed my time in
Dubuque and hope to have further association with the city. Thank you again for opening up
your city to me and allowing me to have this wonderful opportunity.
