Meeting called to order by Tom Giese at 4:02 P.M.
Jack Papin made motion to not read the previous minutes, seconded by D. Grothe. All in favor of
motion.
Discussion was held on Mike Steve's Mechanical Registration application. There is some
misunderstanding. Staff will get more information before Board approves registration.
Tom Giese is taking the 73 new licenses to sign. They are all from the grandfathering in of Sheet
Metal Journeyman.
Discussion was held about the city possibly removing the authority to license competency holders
from the boards. The members were concerned that the licensing would need to be watched very
closely so no one could get a license without meeting the requirements: 75% passing test score.
Jack Papin asked that Rich Russell respond in writing to the question "Does the City Council
members see a copy of the minutes from the Mechanical Board?" Also, why don't they respond in
writing to the board?
The members also asked why they were not provided with a copy of the I BC 2003 since there are
references to it in the 2003 IMC. The secretary informed them if the board needed the info from the
IBC, he would provide a copy of the section needed.
Dave Grothe motioned to adjourn, seconded byMike Kelly. Meeting adjourned at4:50 P.M.
