Re: Request To Vacate City Alley
To the Honorable Mayor and the City Council of Dubuque, Iowa:
My neighbor, Wayne Reicher and I each own the land on either side of the alley running westerly off
South Algona Street (Lots 7A and 7B). We are asking that the city of Dubuque vacate this alley so that
we can purchase the two lots and use them for personal development. Wayne and I are in agreement on
the division of the proposed vacated alley. I would like to construct a garage and driveway on the front
half and Wayne would like to expand his driveway on the back half of the proposed property.
The alley is currently not maintained by the city and is an eyesore to the community. I have talked to
adjoining neighbors and all are in agreement for the purchase of the alley. The purchase of this vacated
alley would not impede the accessibility of the alley that runs north and south to the west of South
Algona St.
