SUBJECT: Destination Signs for National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium
Dear Dick,
The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium has been granted the standard
highway destination signs by one of the federal partners in Coastal America as a result
of the Museum's recent designation as a Coastal Ecosystem Learning Center.
We understand that the Iowa Department of Transportation will install the approved
highway destination signs that are located on the primary (state) highway system within
Dubuque at no charge to the River Museum or the City. We also understand that the
City would need to install (and pay for) any directional signs on the secondary (City)
street system.
The City of Dubuque supports the Iowa Department of Transportation's installation of
the highway destination signs on the primary highway system, and agrees to install the
additional destination signs needed on the secondary street system. We look forward to
continuing our partnership in support of the National Mississippi River Museum &
Aquarium, one of Iowa's premier visitor destinations.
