The Dubuque City Council met in special session t 5:00 p.m. on July 6, 2011 in City

Hall, Conference Room B, 50 W. 13 Street.
Present: Mayor Buol, Council Members, Braig, Connors, Jones, Lynch, Resnick,
Sutton, City Attorney Lindahl
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council for
the purpose of conducting a closed session in accordance with Chapter 21.5 (1)(i) of the
Code of Iowa.
CLOSED SESSION
Upon motion Council went into closed session in accordance with Chapter 21.5 1(i)
of the Code of Iowa, to evaluate the professional competency of individuals whose
appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when necessary to
prevent needless and or irreparable injury to those individuals’ reputation and that the
individuals have requested a closed session.
City Attorney Lindahl left the closed session 5:16 p.m.
City Council continued with the Closed Session with Acting City Clerk Kevin Firnstahl.
City Manager Michael Van Milligen joined the closed session at 5:35 p.m. and left at
6:14 p.m.
Upon motion Council reconvened in open session at 6:23 p.m. p.m., indicating that
the evaluations had been completed.
There being no further business, upon motion the City Council adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
