Honorable Mayor and Members of the
City Council of Dubuque
City Hall
Dubuque, IA 52001
Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members:
At this time the Gannon Center for Community Mental Health is asking for
the City of Dubuque'S support in its application for grant funds from the State
of Iowa to continue its Homeless Outreach Program known as Projects for
Assistance in Transition from Homelessness or PATH Program.
The PATH Program provides $300,000.00 to the State of Iowa to fund or
partially fund six (6) .PATH Projects' in Iowa including Dubuque. This
program is designated specifically to provide services to homeless persons
with mental illness.
Since 1990, grants funding for these projects was renewed annually. This
year the PATH Grant has been issued as a Request for Proposal (RFP) so
this year the Gannon Center will have to compete for funding with any entity
who feels they can provide services to homeless persons with mental illness.
This is why your support is so important.
Please note that the Gannon Center is not requesting any funding from the
City of Dubuque. PATH Grant funds and Gannon Center matching funds will
pay for the Homeless Outreach Program.
Thank you for your consideration.
