Discussion was held on CSST Counter Strike and Flash Shield manufactured gas piping. Mark Ludescher provided information from the State Fire Marshal about fires that had involved CSST in the state of Iowa. The companies that make Trac pipe and Gas Tite have developed the Counter Strike and Flash Shield products that have tested to better handle energy caused by lightning strikes. The State is going to do some of its own testing to determine if it should ban all CSST piping but these two products. Currently Lincoln Nebraska has a similar ban because of the susceptibility of stray energy from causing arcing to the CSST product that can produce holes in the piping. Samples and literature were provided for all the board members to look at. The board decided to await the State of lowas decision before making any recommendations to the council. Morion to adjourn by Dave Grothe and seconded by Mike Kelly. Meeting adjourned at 4:34 P.M. Approved this day of , 2010 Tom Reed, Secretary Chairperson
