Meeting called to order by Tom Giese at 4:00 P.M.
Tom Giese read minutes from previous meeting, motion was made by Dave Grothe to
except minutes as read seconded by Jack Papin. Motion carried 7 -0.
Discussion was held on CSST Counter Strike and Flash Shield manufactured gas piping.
Mark Ludescher provided information from the State Fire Marshal about fires that had
involved CSST in the state of Iowa. The companies that make Trac pipe and Gas Tite
have developed the Counter Strike and Flash Shield products that have tested to better
handle energy caused by lightning strikes. The State is going to do some of its own
testing to determine if it should ban all CSST piping but these two products. Currently
Lincoln Nebraska has a similar ban because of the susceptibility of stray energy from
causing arcing to the CSST product that can produce holes in the piping. Samples and
literature were provided for all the board members to look at. The board decided to await
the State of lowas decision before making any recommendations to the council.
Morion to adjourn by Dave Grothe and seconded by Mike Kelly. Meeting adjourned at
4:34 P.M.
