Regarding the "Important Massage" from A T & T Cable Service
located on the lower left side of page 8A of today's Telegraph Herald
which states effective May 1, 2000 the following changes will be
made: HGTV (channel 55) will no longer be carried on the Basic
analog channel lineup. HGTV can be seen on our Digital service on
channel 202.
I am outra2ed at this change! HGTV is probably the only channel
without any sex, violence, nudity, etc. on the entire TV network. I have
learned how to many things around the house from HGTV and
I have enjoyed it for many years. I am a 71 year old female
supporting my husband who is in a long term facility. His care
costs more than $36,000.00 a year. Now I have to pay more to
enjoy the one program I really like. To upgrade to Digital will cost
me additional money which will be difficult to fit into my budget.
Who made this decision? What does the TV cable regulator say
about this change? We pay more to get less service. When will
this stop?
