A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FINAL PLAT OF SIEGERT'S PLACE, THIRD
ADDITION, IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
Whereas, there has been filed with the City Clerk a final plat of Siegert's Place, Third
Addition, in the City of Dubuque, Iowa; and
Whereas, said final plat has been examined by the Zoning Advisory Commission and
had its approval endorsed thereon; and
Whereas, said final plat has been examined by the City Council and they find that it
conforms to the statutes and ordinances relating thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the final plat of Siegert's Place, Third Addition, is hereby approved
and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to endorse the approval
of the City of Dubuque, Iowa, upon said final plat.

SUBJECT: Final Plat - Siegert's Place, 3rd Addition
INTRODUCTION
The final plat of Siegert's Place, 3rd Addition, replats four existing lots into three, and
resolves an inconsistency between the platted and occupied boundary of Lot 1. The
subject property was annexed in July, 1999, to the City of Dubuque as part of a large
annexation along the U.S. Highway 20.
DISCUSSION
The submitted final plat of Siegert's Place, 3rd Addition, is considered a minor
subdivision, as it creates three new lots but does not dedicate any public utilities or
streets to the City of Dubuque. The subject property is immediately west of Wests ide
Court, a commercial subdivision, of which Lot 1 is owned by one of the property
owners, Robert E. Broughton.
The submitted minor final plat is in compliance with the City of Dubuque Subdivision
Regulations in terms of lot area and lot frontage. The Iowa Department of
Transportation has been sent a letter advising them of the receipt of this subdivision
plat and Planning staff anticipates a reply by the Commission's May 3 meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
The final plat of Siegert's Place, 3rd Addition, is in compliance with City of Dubuque
Subdivision regulations, and the City Planning staff recommend the Zoning Advisory
Commission recommend approval of the submitted plat, subject to lOOT review.

The City of Dubuque Zoning Advisory Commission has reviewed the above-cited request.
. The application, staff report and related materials are attached for your review.
Discussion
The applicant, William Siegert, spoke in favor of the request noting that plat corrects an
inconsistency between the platted and occupied boundary of Lot 1. Staff reviewed with the
Commission that the lOOT has indicated they do not object to the platting of the subject
parcels as the plat itself will not adversely impact the Highway 20 Corridor Preservation
Zone.

The Zoning Advisory Commission discussed the request and recommended approval.
Recommendation
By a vote of 6 to 0, the Zoning Advisory Commission recommends that the City Council
approve the request.
A simple majority vote is needed for the City Council to approve the request.
