Narrative Description: This property is located in the Jackson Park Historic District. Style/Year: post-1909, pre-1920. three- story double brick flat, Neo Classical style (Ionic half columns which flank entry) Physical Description: parapet front with square brick finials above parapet, square plan on raised stone foundation with water table, paired outer windows with large single rusticated stone lintel, single stone sill, single windows in inner two bays, same trim, pilasters divide façade, side walls into four uneven bays, corbelled brick setbacks at the first floor top and the parapet base also define continuous window bays, stone inserts serve as base and capitals on each pilaster with intervening stones between the upper two floor levels. Centered north entry with corbel-based half columns and an elaborate stone still with end finials, transom. Plan 50x48, centered rear porch, 8x26, two flanking decks. Alterations: stuccoed west parapet front, windows replaced, well preserved. Permits note re-roofing in 1939, 1944, 1985, 1997, replace rear staircase 1986, install fire doors 1991 Landscaping/Setting: unusual in that this project replaced rear extensions on the row houses immediately east on Iowa Avenue, arguing that the land owner made room for this building. On alley to west, fronts north. 8. Narrative Statement of Significance: Special Significance; Dallenfordt Apartments Original Owner/Builder: Building History: J. H. Thedinga owned the parcel when it was sewered. Eight units 1971. 9.
