OJ N 0) SUBJECT: Iowa 32--Southwest Arterial Dear Mayor Duggan: This letter is intended to bring you up to date on actions that are being taken by our staff with regard to the Iowa 32 Southwest Arterial. You and the council should be advised that following our Commission's directive, department staff is about to proceed with the examination of alternate corridors for the Southwest Arterial and will specifically consider the impacts of an alignment that connects to U.S. 20 in the vicinity of Seippel Road. We would hope that you and the city council will consider this possibility as you review proposals for development in this area. Obviously as development occurs, our ability to implement a given alternative can be seriously jeopardized. Unfortunately, we cannot provide specifics of an alternative that we have not yet developed so any action would be somewhat speculative. We will keep the city advised of alternatives as they are developed. If you have any questions about this matter or need further clarification of our intention with regard to this project, please give me a call at 319-364-0235.
