Casey J. Arensdorf Communication June 30, 2000 Mayor Terry Duggan c/o City Hall 13th and Central Dubuque, Iowa 52001 Dear Mayor Duggan: r am a Boy Scout from Troop 7, based out of st. Anthony's Church. I am writing to give you my opinion about opening our Town Clock Plaza to vehicular traffic instead of pedestrian traffic. I, for one, think it would be unwise to open it up. It would spoil a lot in the downtown area if it were opened up to traffic. We would have no outdoor place to meet with friends, eat lunch, and browse at some of the shops. It would also be a large waste of the taxpayer's hard earned money. The Plaza may need to be updated, but not torn down and started from scratch. The Plaza belongs to all of Dubuque, not just the downtown business people. People from allover Dubuque need to have their opinions considered, too.
