RESOLUTION NO. 327-00
RESOLUTION NAMING FINANCE DIRECTOR, KENNETH J.
TEKIPPE, AS CITY TREASURER FOR THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA
Whereas, Iowa Code 9372.8 and 92-106 of the City of Dubuque Code of
Ordinances state that the City Manager shall appoint a Treasurer subject to the approval
of the City Council; and
Whereas, the City Manager has determined that the Finance Director, Kenneth J.
TeKippe, should perform these duties.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
That the Finance Director, Kenneth 1. TeKippe is hereby appointed as the City
Treasurer for the City of Dubuque, Iowa.

Appointment of City Theasurer

Former Deputy Finance Director Jerry Hird, who retired on June 30,2000, was the
Treasurer for the City of Dubuque. In reviewing the duties and responsibilities of the Deputy
Finance Director position and assessing the appropriateness of who should perform the City
Treasurer function, I believe these duties should be performed by the Finance Director. It is
Corporation Counsel Barry Lindahl's opinion that these duties can be assigned to the Finance
Director. Iowa Code 9372.8 and 92-106 of the City of Dubuque Code of Ordinances state that
the City Manager shall appoint a Treasurer subject to the approval of the City Council. If you
concur in my recommendation, I request that the attached Resolution be approved appointing the
Finance Director as the City Treasurer for the City of Dubuque. If you have any questions,
