8/8/00 7/31/00' vehicle damage
. .
This is a claim for damages to the cla~t's parked vehicle,
which she believes wa~ caused a by a City vehicle. painti~g the
, yellow lines in the' Airport parking lot.
According to the report' of Bob Boleyn, . Airport Operations\
Maintenance Supervisor, based on interviews with airport employees
and the aQcident reports, he does not believe City personnel are
responsible to the damage to the claimant's car, and he recommends
that the claim be denied. The Legal Depart:JD.ent concurs with that
opinion.

In your own words, live a complete description oftbe incident from start to finish induding any
wimess ac:c:ount of what oc:c:urred and attach.
On July 31, 2000 (at about 1730) I, Josh Paums, was notified by receptionist Stephanie Valentine that
Tracy Ploessl (American Eagle employee) bad some damage to show me on her vehicle. Todd Dalsing
(still here just completing shift change) and I met Tracy at the FBO to look at her car. There was a small,
but somewhat deep scrape in her drivers door (see attached photos). She explained she was parked in Lot
3, at the SE end of the third row in from the road. Todd and I advised her she would have to fill out a City
of Dubuque Claim Form as soon as possible. The area she parked had been painted earlier in the day by
AiIport Maintenance workas Jeff Petty and Mark Smith. I talked to them first thing Tuesday morning, and
they adamantly said they did not damage the vehicle.
~ incident remains open pending further action.
