INTRODUCTION
fJ J lz rlC1
IOWA
We have block grant funds from 1999 that we are ready to commit to the uses described
below. Before we can utilize the money we need to hold a public hearing. The funds
also need to be recorded as a budget amendment and be assigned an account number.
BUDGET IMP ACT
The 1999 Block Grant award is $35,845
Our local 1 0% match is 3,585
Total
$39,430
Our intention is to use the funds in the following areas and amounts:
Overtime
Crime Prevention
Equipment
$10,000
$ 8,000
$17,845
Total
$35,845
The local match funds would supplement one of these three areas as needed.
RECOMMENDA TION
I ask that you add our request for a public hearing to the next City Council agenda so they
can set a hearing date, and that the grant funds be recorded as a budget amendment and
assigned an account number.
