CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA
MEMORANDUM
September 14, 2000
TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: Michael C. Van Milligen, City Manager
SUBJECT:
Montcrest Street
The City began a resurfacing project on Montcrest Street in late summer. I received a
phone call from a resident of the street asking that the City not complete the project until
she had a little time to circulate a petition asking that the street be closed with a cul-de-
sac, instead of finished. She said the street was very steep and rarely used. The project
was put on hold.
A petition was since received from another neighbor asking to keep the street open. The
names and addresses are being checked. The first person wanting a closed street has not
turned in a petition.
Assuming the neighborhood wants the street left open, work will begin again on this
project with a completion this construction season.
