City Engineer Gus Psihoyos recommends the City Council set a Work Session for
Monday, December 19, 2011, to provide an overview of roundabout concepts and
benefits in lieu of traditional intersection design and signalization.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

This memorandum is to request a work session on Monday, December 19, 2011, with
the Mayor and City Council to provide an overview of roundabout concepts and its
benefits in lieu of traditional intersection design (signalization).
Ourston Roundabout Engineering, Inc. of Madison, Wisconsin, would present how
roundabouts have shown to: relieve traffic congestion; achieve better operations with
higher traffic capacity; increase user safety; slow high -speed streets, and better
upgrade of freeway -to- street interchanges.
